The Shadefest Story
Long before establishing the annual celebration we now call Shadefest, a group of friends gathered each summer on Southern Maryland’s beautiful shores to enjoy a weekend full of fun times and live music. With each passing summer, their beloved weekend grew in numbers and scale; with more comrades joining in on the laughs and more bands brandishing their talents through the warm, starry evenings.
In 2015, this group of friends christened their favorite weekend as Shadefest, a multi-day music festival that prides itself on its grassroots beginning and familial atmosphere. This year, the story continues at the beautiful Pegasus Farm in Elkins, WV. As our team prepares to launch the festival’s fourth official year, we invite you to join the experience that is our Shadefest family. See you in the shade!
This year, Shadefest has partnered with the Richmond SPCA in a charitable arrangement and will donate a portion of its proceeds to the organization. The Richmond SPCA is a non-profit, no-kill humane organization dedicated to the principle that every life is precious. The Shadefest team is filled with animal lovers, and wholeheartedly supports the mission of the Richmond SPCA. You can learn more about them on their website.
